“Care for your clothes, like the good friends they are.” - Joan Crawford
We create timeless pieces that are designed to last - but how you care for them plays a big role in their longevity. Follow these care instructions to keep your Narah Soleigh favorites looking and feeling their best.
🌊 Swimwear
Rinse swimwear after each use
After wearing your swimwear, make sure to thoroughly rinse it to remove any salt or chlorine that could potentially damage the fabric and hardware.
Hand wash in cool water
Instead of using a washing machine, gently hand wash your swimwear in cool water. This helps reduce microfiber shedding and minimizes fabric wear.
Consider using a Guppyfriend
If you choose to machine wash your swimwear, we recommend using a Guppyfriend bag to help capture microfibers and prevent them from entering the water system.
Remove wooden pearls before washing
Before washing your swimwear, ensure that any wooden pearls or embellishments are detached to avoid damage during the washing process.
Avoid spin drying
Instead of using the spin cycle, gently squeeze off excess water from your swimwear and then line dry it in the shade. This helps preserve the fabric and extends its lifespan
Avoid harsh abrasive surfaces
When wearing or storing your swimwear, avoid contact with rough or abrasive surfaces that can cause snags or tears in the fabric.
Avoid harsh chemical-treated pools/spas
Refrain from wearing our swimwear in pools or spas that use harsh chemicals, as they can potentially damage the fabric and fade its colour.
Avoid ironing, wringing, soaking, or bleaching
It's best to avoid these actions as they can negatively impact the fabric and shape of your swimwear.
Use mild natural detergent if needed
If necessary, use a gentle and mild natural detergent to wash your swimwear.
🧵 Micromodal & TENCEL™
Wash with cold water
Use a gentle wash cycle at max. 30°C to prevent fiber breakdown and keep the fabric soft.
Use an enzyme-free detergent
Harsh detergents with enzymes can break down the delicate cellulose fibers, causing fuzziness and thinning. Always use a detergent made for wool or delicates.
Wash inside out in a laundry bag
To reduce friction and prevent pilling, turn garments inside out and place them in a mesh laundry bag before washing.
Minimize pilling with gentle care
Micromodal and TENCEL™ are naturally soft but can be prone to pilling with friction. To prevent this:
- Avoid washing with rougher fabrics like denim or towels.
- Use a gentle detergent and wash on a delicate cycle.
- If light pilling occurs over time, carefully remove it with a fabric comb or a sweater shaver.
Avoid fabric softeners
Fabric softeners coat the fibers and can reduce breathability. Instead, opt for a mild, eco-friendly detergent.
Lay flat to dry
Avoid tumble drying and direct sunlight exposure. Instead, reshape the garment and lay it flat to dry to maintain its original fit.
🧶 Organic Cotton
Wash cold or warm on a gentle cycle
Use cold or warm water (max. 30°C) to prevent shrinking and preserve color vibrancy.
Use a mild detergent
Avoid bleach or heavy-duty detergents, as they can weaken the fabric and fade colors over time.
Wash with similar colours
Cotton can absorb dye from other fabrics, so always wash light and dark colors separately.
Air dry to prevent shrinking
To maintain shape and prevent unnecessary wear, avoid tumble drying and air dry instead.
Iron on low if needed
If wrinkles appear, iron on low heat or steam lightly for a smooth finish.
🌿 Linen & Linen blends
Wash cold on a delicate cycle
Use cold water (max. 30°C) and a gentle wash cycle to keep linen soft and fresh.
Use a mild detergent
Harsh detergents or bleach can weaken linen fibers. Always choose mild, eco-friendly detergent.
Avoid overloading the washing machine
Linen needs space to move freely in the wash. Overloading the machine can cause excessive creasing and fiber stress.
Air dry flat or on a hanger
Tumble drying can shrink linen. Instead, lay it flat or hang it on a wide hanger to maintain its shape.
Steam or iron while slightly damp
For a crisp finish, steam or iron linen while it’s still slightly damp.
Minimal shrinkage is normal
Linen can shrink slightly after washing, but it will often relax again with wear. If needed, gently steam or stretch the fabric back to shape while damp.
✨ Cupro
Hand wash or use a delicate machine cycle
Cupro is delicate and should preferably be hand washed. If using a machine, place it in a laundry bag and select a delicate cycle at max. 30°C.
Use a pH-neutral, enzyme-free detergent
Heavy-duty detergents can leave residue on Cupro, making it stiff or faded. Always use a mild, pH-neutral detergent.
Never wring or twist Cupro
The fabric is highly absorbent and prone to water stains. Instead of wringing, gently press excess water out with a towel.
Avoid fabric softeners
Fabric softeners can leave residue on Cupro, affecting its natural drape and sheen. Stick to mild detergent and proper rinsing instead.
Lay flat to dry
Avoid tumble drying. Instead, lay the garment flat on a clean towel and let it air dry away from direct sunlight.
Iron inside out on low heat
Use the lowest heat setting and steam to remove wrinkles. If ironing directly, use a press cloth to protect the fabric.
Be cautious with water stains
Cupro can develop water marks. If this happens, lightly steam the area or gently dab with a damp cloth to even out moisture distribution.
Store folded or hanging
To prevent deep creases, store hanging or loosely folded.
🚫 What to avoid
- Bleach or optical brighteners
- Fabric softeners (unless specified for the fabric type)
- Tumble drying (except for organic cotton)
- Dry cleaning (unless stated otherwise)
- Overloading the washing machine - reduces garment lifespan
